Mohawk Rooke Does It Again!

Kyle Rooke made it three straight Invitational Cross Country victories Saturday (Oct. 13).

The Mohawk runner and product of Assumption Catholic Secondary School in Burlington, is certainly in fine form with the OCAA Championships just two weeks away.

Rooke was timed in 26:49.8 in the eight kilometre event. Teammate Jason Laporta wound up fourth, timed in 27:38.1.

Mohawk was sixth in the men’s team event, won by St. Clair.

Mountaineers’ cross country head coach Ryan Gagnon noted he was without some of his top runners for this event.

In the women’s 6K race, Mohawk was 3rd in the team event won by Fanshawe.

Kaitlyn Pansegrau from Dundas Highland was eighth individually, in a time of 24:37.2.

The women’s winner was Fanshawe’s Janelle Hanna, who was clocked in 24:03.3.

The OCAA Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Centennial College on October 27.
