Mohawk runners captured both the men’s and women’s individual titles at the 22nd Annual Fanshawe College Cross Country invitational race at the Fanshawe Conservation Area in London Saturday (Sep. 15).
Kyle Rooke took the men’s eight kilometre race in 26:25, 55 seconds ahead of the field.
Mountaineer teammate Fred Muriu finished fourth in 27:47 while Jason LaPorta was fifth, in 27:52.
Other Mohawk men’s results include Dermott Shepherd finishing 47th in 33:15, Vasu Narula 58th in 34:22 and Ayman Aldin, 60th in 34:37
Mohawk was third in the men’s team event, won by St. Clair.
Meanwhile in the women’s 6K race, Mohawk’s Kaitlyn Pansegrau was first in 23:46. Mohawk’s Ashley Lot was eighth in 25:29, Hannah Sukkau finished 15th in 26:16, Katarina Balmazan came in 42nd in 30:07, Polina Galevskaia was 54th in 34:32 and Miranda Bos finished 49th in 39:00.
Mohawk wound up third in the women’s team competition.
