MVC Medals at East Coast Championships

The Mountain Volleyball Club had outstanding Ontario Provincial Championships results and followed up with more medals at the 36th Annual East Coast Championships in Pittsburgh. This U.S. regional and national qualification tournament draws over 200 teams in multiple age divisions from across the Eastern seaboard.

The MVC 14U Maroon team won the Gold medal in the Bronze Division, finishing 19th overall.

The MVC 14U Maroon team is coached by Elaine Pilgrim-Susi of Ancaster and Mike Susi of Ancaster.

The MVC 14U Maroon athletes include Caitlin Susi, Julia Pona, Rebecca Brankovic and Erin Hedgcock of Ancaster, Sarah Doyle and Rachel Battaglia of Hamilton, Abby Gerber of Dundas, Cecilia Diklic of Stoney Creek and Penelope Costelloe of Burlington.

The MVC 12U won the Bronze medal in the Gold Division, placing third overall.

The MVC 12U team is coached by Peter Stratford of Burlington, Elvisia Maga of Binbrook and Peter Wehmeyer of Hamilton.

MVC 12U players include Audrey Evans, Avaya Maga, Daniella Groppo, Emerson Wehmeyer, Emily Ram, Emma Sukan, Isabella Aicken, Kennedy Llewellyn and Sophie Clark.

The MVC 13U team won the Bronze medal in the Gold Division, placing third overall.

The MVC 13U team is coached by Albie O’ Hanian of Waterdown and Karen Graham of Waterdown. The MVC 13U players include Claire Carter, Ella McVittie, Amelia Dodds, Victoriya Krachkovskaya and Isabella Tehrani of Hamilton; Abby Smith, Abby Felkai and Madison Seo of Ancaster; Katrina Antolin of Stoney Creek and Shelby O’Hanian of Waterdown.

The MVC 14U Black team won the Bronze medal in the Gold Division, placing third overall.

The MVC 14U Black team is coached by Dave Lightfoot of Hamilton, Julie Entwistle of Ancaster and Christian Hollingshead of Hamilton. The MVC 14U Black team athletes include Frances Cooke and Payton Lightfoot of Hamilton; Olivia Dmitrovich and Sarah Elchuk of Hamilton Mountain; Mary Andrikopoulos, Eve Entwistle, Payton Entwistle and Anna Robertson of Ancaster; Kaitlin Lee of Oakville and Lauren McCarthy of Milton.

The MVC 15U team placed 43rd overall.

The MVC 15U team is coached by Wally Verschoor of Dundas and Kristin Kawamoto of Hamilton.

MVC 15U team players include Grace Preston of Hamilton, Kira Verschoor, Emily Richer, Leah Waite of Dundas, Isabelle Schurer of Ancaster, Isabella Knezevic of Binbrook, Grace German of Waterdown, Kassandra Pavlic and Emma Fraser of Stoney Creek, Ana Dujakovic of Burlington.

The MVC 16U team won the Gold medal in the Bronze Division, placing 22nd overall.

The MVC 16U team is coached by Jeni Zering of Hamilton and Dave Gondar of Stoney Creek.

MVC 16U team players include Laura Persichini, Grace Manning, Abby MacDonald, Anne Andrikopoulos, Sydney Ram, Makenna Carvarzan and Logan Garvey of Hamilton, Graziella Assaf of Ancaster and Isabela Gondar of Stoney Creek.

The MVC 17U team placed ninth overall in the Beast of the East Division.

The MVC 17U team is coached by Larissa Puhach-Byckalo and Dan Byckalo of Burlington, Doug McKerlie and Alicia Jack of Hamilton.

MVC 17U players include Sophie Hollingshead, Rachel Vanderwal and Ella Carter of Hamilton, Christina Stratford, Meghan Shannon, Megan Duffy, Maddie Bowles, Adyson Wilson-Hands, and Lauren Hebert of Burlington, Laura Bishop of Lynden, Amy Simunic and Alexie Chevrier of Hannon.

The MVC 18U team placed twenty first overall.

The MVC 18U team is coached by Steve Felker of Hamilton and Chris Garrick of Milton.

MVC 18U players include Rae Delsey, Natalie Ogrodnik, Jamie Mataseje and Kaitlin Johnny of Ancaster, Grace Mazur of Hamilton, Hayley Henderson and Milla Tesic of Burlington, Kate LaFleur, Daisy Nebel and Katie McKenna of St Catharines and Marissa Talsma of Smithville.
