The Glanbrook Rangers came out strong against Caledonia defeating the Corvairs 5-1.
The Rangers were back at home in the Glanbrook Arena Wednesday night fresh off their shut out victory over Dundas four days before. In that match up the Rangers scored five unanswered goals and, in this game, there would be much of the same.
Caledonia got on the scoreboard first as Kyle Sault put the puck past Glanbrook goaltender Tyler Leach at 10:23 of the opening period. This goal was answered less than four minutes later by Rangers defenseman Shawn Stringer as he scored his first goal of the season to tie the game at one. Alexander Cappelletti would shortly thereafter score his first of the night to put the Rangers ahead 2-1 after the first period.
After Cappelletti scored his second goal, Drew Jedrzejewicz and Dillon Smith added goals in the second and third periods respectively to give the Glanbrook Rangers a 5-1 victory over Caledonia.
Glanbrook retakes the lead in the East Division with the victory putting the Rangers one point ahead of Grimsby. These two teams aren’t set to face one another again until later on this month.
Glanbrook is in action again tomorrow night when the team visits the Chippawa Riverhawks. That game is scheduled for a 7:30pm start time from Gale Arena in Niagara Falls.
