OCAA women’s curling final set

The Fanshawe Falcons will meet the Humber Hawks for the women’s Gold Medal at the OCAA Curling Championships In Hamilton Sunday. Fanshawe’s Kaitlyn Poirier scored three in an extra end to defeat Fleming’s Paige Droog 7-4 at the Glendale Golf and Country Club Saturday.

Meanwhile, Humber’s Cassie Paccanaro and her foursome got a stern test from championships’ host Mohawk Mountaineers before pulling out a 5-4 verdict over Alex Nunes and her rink.

The women’s final Sunday starts at 9 am as will the bronze medal game between Fleming and Mohawk.

The mixed final between Humber’s Jonah Paquette and Fanshawe’s Brett Henderson will be played at 5pm. Humber advanced with a 7-5 win over Confederation’s Faith Herbert.

The men’s semi finals are set for 5pm Saturday. Nick Servant and his unbeaten Sault Cougars (5-0) meet Confederation’s Kurtwood McGuire (1-4) while Humber’s Sean Armstrong (4-1) plays Fanshawe’s Charlie Richard (3-2).
