OFC, Hamilton Hurricanes release 2016 Schedule

The Canadian Junior Football League and the Ontario Football Conference unveiled the 2016 season this afternoon. The campaign kicks off on the second weekend in August with the league wrapping up play just before Halloween. Though while the teams and dates are set, times and locations are still up in the air.

The Hamilton Hurricanes kick off the season on opening weekend and will host the GTA Grizzlies. The teams will meet on Saturday, August 13th. The game has no announced start time as of press time, nor has the location been revealed.

None of the Hurricanes’ home games conflict with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, so it is possible that the team could once again use Tim Horton’s Field. However McMaster University Ron Joyce Statium is also an option. CIS has not announced the 2016 football schedule, so it is unknown as to the any conflicts with Marauders’ games should the team go this route.

In total the Hamilton Hurricanes will play eight games, four at home and four on the road. The Hurricanes will play the Niagara Braves, which relocated from Burlington during the offseason, twice. Hamilton will also play the Windsor AKO Fratmen and Ottawa Sooners twice, while they will face GTA and the London Beefeaters once.
