The Provincial Junior Hockey League announced late last week that they have made the decision to delay the upcoming season until at least February. The news comes as the country continues to deal with the second wave of Covid-19 and public health guidelines and restrictions have tightened.
“During a meeting of the Governors of the PJHL, it was decided that the league would set a projected starting date of February 1, 2021 for the regular season,” stated PJHL Commissioner Terry Whiteside in a press release from the league.
“This date will be incumbent upon gaining the permission of all health authorities and governing bodies and will take into account the safety of our players, coaches, staff, and fans.”
Details regarding schedules and playoff formats have been reviewed and will be decided closer to the projected start date.
