The Mohawk women’s basketball team dropped a 77-43 decision to the Sheridan Bruins at the DBARC Friday (Feb.8).
Sydney Charvis scored 22 points to lead the Bruins’ attack.
Sam Pocrnic paced the Mountaineers with 13 points. Beth Minielly had eight points, while Alex Parente and Didi Otong had six each.
Mohawk shot only 26.3 percent from the floor for the game.
Mohawk head coach Kevin Duffy said his team started great. “Sheridan pressed and we executed our ‘press break’ and got back door layups. Then we just stopped. We made adjustments and the girls just didn’t execute. When we did execute, the (failure) wasn’t because they didn’t focus. We were trying hard enough, but trying to make the ten point play all the time. That just goes back to having an inexperienced team,” Duffy said.
