Ike Usifo of the St. Thomas More Knights captured a bronze medal at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations track and field championships in Belleville Saturday.

The speedy Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic Athletic Association runner finished third in the senior boys’ 200 metres with a time of 22.24 seconds. In qualifying, his seventh-best heat time was 22.29.

Earlier this season, in the 200m, the Grade 11 student and Hamilton Elite Athletic Team member finished first at the Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference meet (23.30) and third at South Regionals (22.33).

The OFSAA medal is not the first for Usifo. Last year he brought home a bronze in the junior 200m and a silver as part of More’s 4x100m junior boys’ relay team.

In 2015, he also earned bronze in the 4x100m relay.
