Another day, another emphatic victory for the Marauders women’s basketball team, who won their third straight game of 2018 with a 74-48 dismissal of the Waterloo Warriors Wednesday.
With the win, McMaster improved to 9-4 on the season, keeping them level in second in the OUA West standings.
Pacing the Marauders in the victory, forward Olivia Wilson had 16 points on 6-11 shooting, while Lexie Spadafora responded to her Athlete of the Week turn of last weekend by contributing a double-double of 15 points and 10 boards.
Linnaea Harper owned the glass on the night, with 17 rebounds (eight offensive, nine defensive) to handily lead the game.
The Marauders held the Warriors to just 18-61 from the floor (29.5 per cent), while shooting 35 per cent themselves.
A 10-0 run lent the Marauders the breathing room they needed late in the first quarter, as Harper’s free throw gave Mac a 21-12 lead with 1:42 to play in the period.
The visitors did not look back from there, outscoring the Warriors in each of the next three quarters to extend their advantage and but the game beyond reach.
