Today it was announced that 84 more GO train trip are being added and 65 existing train trips each week are being extended across GO Transit’s network to bring more rush-hour, midday and evening service.
“We’re delivering on our promise to expand transit in Ontario by offering more service, more trains and more choice for GO customers,” said Caroline Mulroney, Minister of Transportation.
The changes are another step in the GO expansion program. GO Transit is doubling rush-hour service for West Harbour GO, and weekend Niagara service will now run all year, though these trains will continue to bypass West Harbour GO Station in Hamilton.
Service added to Hamilton includes:
- Two existing morning rush-hour trips that depart Aldershot GO at 7:23am and 8:03am will now be extended to start at West Harbour GO at 7:09am and 7:49am making the usual stops, and arriving at Union Station at 8:20am and 9:00am.
- A NEW trip from Union Station at 4:45pm, running express to Clarkson GO and arriving at West Harbour GO at 5:57pm.
- The existing 6:30pm trip from Union Station will be extended to serve West Harbour GO, arriving at 7:42pm.
These changes will come into effect as of Saturday, August 31st, 2019.
