Environment Canada has issued a ‘RAINFALL WARNING’ for the City of Hamilton. 15-30mm of rain is expected tonight. [ THIS WARNING HAS ENDED. ]

Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • City of Hamilton

Rainfall, combined with melting snow, is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

Another soaker on tap to start the weekend.

Rain, occasionally heavy at times, will continue tonight and into Saturday morning before tapering off to patchy drizzle by Saturday afternoon. The precipitation may be mixed with a little wet snow or wet flurries in the Hamilton to Woodstock areas Saturday.

Widespread total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 millimetres are expected overnight and Saturday morning.

Rain is expected to begin early this evening and change to snow Saturday morning or afternoon. Total rainfall amounts of 15 to 30 mm are expected.

The frozen ground and snowpack will have a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

Local ponding on streets is possible, especially where storm drains are covered with snow or ice.
