Environment Canada has issued a ‘Severe Thunderstorm Warning’ for the City of Hamilton.

5:14 PM EST Thursday 11 March 2021
Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

  • City of Hamilton

At 5:14 p.m. EST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, pea to dime size hail and heavy rain.

This line of severe thunderstorms is located from Innisfil to 9 kilometres northwest of Erin to Wellburn, moving southeast at 40 km/h.

Locations impacted include:
Kitchener, Woodstock, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Newmarket, Tavistock, New Hamburg, Erin, Halton Hills, Caledon, Bradford, Innerkip, Ayr, Rockwood, Acton, Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, Tottenham, Beeton and Bolton.

Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
