Environment Canada has issued a ‘Severe Thunderstorm Watch’ for the City of Hamilton.

Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:

  • City of Hamilton

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and damaging hail.

Severe thunderstorms may develop late overnight and continue into the early morning hours.

Hazard: wind gusts up to 90 kilometres per hour and hail near 2 centimetres in diameter.

Very large hail can damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Locally heavy rain is also possible. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops.
