Significant snowfall amounts expected overnight Friday night through Saturday evening.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • City of Hamilton

15 cm of heavy snow today.

Snow, heavy at times will continue into this afternoon, with total amounts near 15 cm expected across the region.

Strong southeasterly winds will whip up the freshly fallen snow causing very low visibility at times in blowing snow mostly this morning.

The snow will taper off to a mixture of showers and wet flurries this afternoon as temperatures edge above the zero degree mark.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.

Snow is expected to move into the area tonight as a low pressure system approaches. Snow will be heavy at times Saturday morning into the afternoon. The snow will transition to rain Saturday evening before changing to flurries Saturday night. Total snowfall amounts near 15 cm are likely.

Winds gusting up to 50 km/h will create areas of blowing snow giving reduced visibilities, particularly Saturday afternoon.

Snow is expected to move into the area overnight as a low pressure system approaches. Snow will be heavy at times Saturday morning and afternoon. The snow will transition to rain Saturday evening before changing to light flurries overnight Saturday night. Total snowfall amounts near 15 cm are likely.

Winds gusting up to 50 km/h will create areas of blowing snow giving reduced visibilities, particularly Saturday afternoon.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Hamilton

Significant snowfall amounts expected overnight Friday night through Saturday evening.

An approaching low pressure system will bring snowfall to Southwestern Ontario beginning overnight Friday which will spread eastward to the Golden Horseshoe on Saturday morning. Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected. Some locations may transition over to periods of rain late Saturday. Strong winds up to 60 km/h may also create areas of local blowing snow.

The snow or rain will change to flurries overnight Saturday night.

Visibilities will be reduced in areas of blowing snow, which can make travel hazardous. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
